Thank you for your interest in volunteering with HEART. We are always in need of help. We have opportunities working directly with animals, fundraising and logistics. Whatever your passion, we have a place for you!
Volunteer Requirements:
HEART has two types of membership. Tier 1 which involves working directly with animals during a deployment. Please find the requirements for Tier 1 directly below:
Tier 2 membership is non-animal handling and home-based. Examples include: Fundraising, Volunteer Coordinating, Social Media maintenance, etc. ONLY STEPS 1-3 found below are required for this type of position. Please see the requirements for Tier 2 directly below:

Step 1: Volunteer application (Tier 1 and 2)

The first step is filling out the HEART volunteer application.

Please fill out the form below and upload PDFs of all required forms and certifications from steps 2, 3 and 4. Alternatively, you can scan and email your completed form to: spokaneheartvolunteers@gmail.com, mail it to: PO Box 14205, Spokane Valley, WA 99214 or bring it to our monthly general meeting. Please see the homepage for the current meeting date and time.

Step 2: SCEM Volunteer Application and Requirements (Tier 1 and 2)

The next step is filling out the Spokane County Emergency Management application.
​
Required SCEM Classes:
-
First Aid/CPR/AED - Certification must be renewed every two years. You may be certified through SCEM or any other agency such as the American Red Cross who is licensed.

Blood-Borne Pathogens - Free online training recommended.

Step 3: HEART Forms (Tier 1 and 2)
