Who We Are

 Founded in 2006 in Spokane, Wa, HEART is an all volunteer, non-profit group formed to fill a need for local and national emergency disaster relief for animals.

HEART was created to coordinate efforts with Spokane County Emergency Management and the American Red Cross to provide rapid response to events affecting the health, safety and welfare of animals and their people.    

HEART is divided into a variety of volunteer positions:

  • Board Members

  • Animal Handlers            

  • Transportation               

  • Medical Staff                 

  • Technical Rescue

  • Fundraising

  • Equipment & Resources

  • Public Relations
